MULTIMEDIA STUDIES VISITING SCHOLARS Dr. Julio Caser de Tavares, Associate Professor from the Institute of Social Communication at the Federal University Flumenese in Rio de Janeiro, is our Distinguished Visiting Scholar for spring semester 2004. Dr. Tavares is teaching Ethnicity and Communication with Kitty Oliver on the DavieCampus/ African American Library, and Cultural Analysis in the graduate program on the Boca Campus. Dr. Tavares’ research includes investigations into the physical memory and cultural identity of the African Diaspora.   The Visiting Scholars program brings artists and researchers from around the globe to the FAU campus. Visiting scholars enhance and expand the curriculum of the school with new perspectives on a variety of issues.
